Featuring Epson Scan 2 advanced imaging features, a LED light source, and exceptional SilverFast Ai 9 image-processing software, this scanner offers excellent image reproduction.

Epson Expression 13000XL A3 flatbed scanner offers top-of-the-range scanning technology for extremely high-quality reproductions up to A3 in size. Epson Scan 2 is simple to use, and it allows users to optimise scanning results in either automatic or professional modes.

With a 3.8 DMax optical density and 48-bit colour depth, the Expression 13000XL CCD scanner offers sharp and accurate scans, allowing for full colour reproduction even in shadowy areas. Users can also capture even the tiniest details with exceptional clarity with the ultra-precise Micro Step Drive technology and high resolution of 2400 x 4800dpi - making the NEW Epson 13000XL the perfect A3 scanner for artwork.

Sharpen and edit your scans
Expression 13000XL's comprehensive software and imaging technology ensure it can perform a wide range of tasks effectively and easily. Epson Scan 2 includes useful features for removing dust noise and grain reduction to smooth the appearance of images, and SilverFast Ai 9's image-processing functions help to achieve even better image reproduction.

Scan a range of media
The optional transparency unit enables users to scan from transparency media, such as positive or negative film and slides, with professional results. With transparency unit for film and slides the 13000XL A3 flatbed scanner is transformed into slide scanner and negative scanner, capable of scanning a wide range of film sizes including 35mm film, 120mm roll film and 5' x 4" sheet film.

Epson Scan 2 Software

Epson Scan 2 is a driver for controlling your scanner, enabling a variety of scan settings. This also allows you to start either as a standalone application or by using TWAIN-compliant application software. The beauty of Epson Scan 2 is that you can use it to set up basic scan presets or more advanced settings, depending on your needs. Make your own decisions with regards to scan size, resolution, quality, colour bit depth etc. before saving out the file of your choice - pdf, tiff, jpeg etc. More advanced setting considerations include:

  • Brightness: Select to adjust the brightness for the scanned image.
  • Contrast: Select to adjust the contrast for the scanned image.
  • Saturation: Select to adjust the saturation (colour vividness) for the scanned image.
  • Unsharp Mask: Select to enhance and sharpen the outlines for the scanned image.
  • Color Restoration: Select to correct images that have faded to return them to their original colours.
  • Backlight Correction: Select to lighten scanned images that are dark due to backlight. 
  • De-screening: Select to remove moiré patterns (web-like shadows) that appear when scanning printed papers such as a magazine. Dust Removal: Select to remove dust on the scanned image.

SilverFast Ai 9 Software

SilverFast Ai Studio is known as the standard for professional scanner software. SilverFast Ai Studio includes many setting options and brings out the last percent of quality from your valuable images.

SilverFast Ai Studio includes the patented and award-winning Multi-Exposure increases the scanner’s Dynamic Range, removes natural image noise and provides more details. The included automatic IT8 Color Calibration ensures correct colours. The Expert Mode can be used to make numerous fine adjustments and the 16bit histogram provides a very powerful tool for exposure compensation, which can even display individual colour channels separated. Photographers and professionals from all areas of digital imaging rely on our software. SilverFast Ai Studio is integrated into the workflow by many companies in the graphic arts industry who rely on smart algorithms and expert dialogs for image enhancement.
