A New Beginning in Document Scanning
On September 1st, 2022, Ricoh purchased a company called PFU from Fujitsu. As a result of this, the company’s flagship document scanning business has been rebranded - Fujitsu document scanners will become Ricoh document scanners. Ricoh has been an important strategic partner for PFU for a long time and they have worked on many projects together in Japan and around the world. Ricoh recognised many of the capabilities that PFU has, including their strength in innovation driven by world class engineers, along with their sales and marketing expertise.
From April 2023 all SP series and fi-series Fujitsu document scanners will be re-branded, products will be the same, apart from the logo on the product changing to Ricoh.
All Ricoh A4 and A3 document scanners will continue to be made in the same factories by the same people and to the same standards no matter whether they carry a Fujitsu logo, or a Ricoh logo.
The Scanner Shop will be making the transition from Fujitsu document scanners to Ricoh document scanners as smoothly as possible. We will start shipping Ricoh branded document scanners from March 2023, and we will do everything we can to ensure that any orders are fulfilled from the same brand (Fujitsu or Ricoh). However, we do acknowledge that for a short period of time, there is a chance to have mixed batches of Fujitsu and Ricoh branded document scanners fulfilled within the same order.
The first new Ricoh model to be launched since the rebrand, will be the Ricoh fi-8040 A4 document scanner. Launch date is early June 2023. To find out more and pre-order, visit our Ricoh fi-8040 A4 document scanner product listing page.
The last date by which Fujitsu branded document scanners will be despatched is August 31st, 2023. Please be aware that after this date, it is possible that we will still provide Fujitsu branded A4 and A3 document scanners, until all stock has been depleted.
