ScanSnap iX1400 vs ScanSnap iX1600
Crucially, ScanSnap customers will want to know what the difference is between these two new machines when compared to the previous, best-selling iX1500.
iX1600
The ScanSnap iX1600 is a USB or WiFi connected A4 scanner with improved scan speeds of 40ppm, versus the iX1500's 30ppm. It features a large touchscreen user interface and powers up when unfolded. It is designed with advanced feeding technology to prevent paper jams and allows the user to scan a wide range of documents using carrier sheets, such as thick or long media and folded A3 documents. The A3 documents can then be automatically stitched together with ScanSnap Home.
The touchscreen user interface on the ScanSnap iX1600 allows different users to switch between their favoured scan jobs and control scan destinations from the hardware itself. This information is then fed into ScanSnap Home, Fujitsu's industry-leading capture software suite.
ScanSnap Home is bundled with all three units and its features do not vary between models when facing a computer. However, users will notice that the iX1400 does not come with a touchscreen user-interface and so must be controlled on computer. Once users are up and running with their scanning, intelligent AI within ScanSnap Home recognises the different types of documents a user scans over time and automatically categorise data into folders. This removes a number of steps in the administration process, saving valuable time.
