Does the software arrive on a disk (like my old scanner)? My new iMac has no drive. Will it work?

's Answer:

A disc comes with the scanner, but you can also download the drivers/software from Fujitsu if you don't have a media drive in your Mac.

Specification says "hardware 1600dpi" Sales brochure gives scan speed for 300dpi. Does this scanner scan document at up to 1600dpi, or is its maximum scan dpi less than this, and if so waht?

's Answer:

The scanner dpi is adjustable in the driver. The maximum dpi is 1600 but the manufacturer mentions scanning performance whilst set at 300dpi, so expect increased scanning time if you increase the dpi towards the maximum 1600.

Hi - Can you tell me if the CanoScan LIDE 220 scanner is compatible with Win.10 64bit systems please? I also need to scan old 35mm slides, does this scanner come with a slide adapter to facilitate this. Thanks.

Neville, Thank you for your enquiry. Whilst the scanner is Windows 10 64-bit compatible, it doesn't come with any slide mounts. Canon supply those with their CanoScan 9000F II but not the LiDE 220.

Les, Thank you for your enquiry. You can't scan direct to a USB stick with this model. It would need to go via the PC/Mac driver and software, then save direct to the USB from the scanning application.

I think I used this machine at a former workplace. I remember when I scanned a letter or a document I could then copy and paste text from the scanned document. Can this model do this?

Are there any scanners under £200 that are compatible with iMac OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5 ? Some only work up to version 10.9

What is A3 Stitching Function?

Hi, could you please explain a little bit more what A3 Stitching Function is? How could we scan A3 document?

's Answer:

You fold the A3 page in half and place in a specialised transparent carrier sheet (either supplied or available separately). The scanner detects the coding strip on the carrier sheet and the driver will then read both sides and seamlessly join the two sides to form a single page document of A3 dimensions. This function works well, but due to the requirement to fold the document, it is not suitable for all purposes of A3 scanning. Some may still be better off with an A3 scanner.

Can I scan documents to a memory stick

Ann, Thank you for your question. I'm sorry but the Canon DR-C225/225W range is not capable of scanning direct to a memory stick. We have several scanners with this feature. If you look under the SCANNERS menu at the top of our website, you'll see you can select a range by feature which includes the feature "Scan to USB / Memory Stick" which will allow you to view the models that support this feature.

Yes, the Canon 9000F Mk II scanner is compatible with Windows 10. It is only USB 2.0. You can make it a network connection scanner with an optional Silex USB Server. http://www.thescannershop.com/silex-sx-ds-3000wan-usb-device-server/ You would still need to have the drivers and software for the Canon 9000F Mk II scanner installed on the PC, as well as the drivers and USB Server application for the Silex USB Server.
