Educational Facilities Turning a Profit with the ScanSnap SV600
Educational facilities have been capitalising on the positive output of their students, with the help of a revolutionary new scanner, from Fujitsu.
The Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600, an overhead book scanner, takes images of scannable media from a height, much like a mounted camera. Any media, such as business documents or whole text books, can be scanned with great efficiency and clarity.
However, educational facilities such as nurseries, schools and colleges have been able to turn their students work into a cashflow feature. By scanning pieces of artwork or important coursework pieces, like essays or scientific drawings, with the SV600, schools can then reproduce and sell the pieces of work back to family members or friends who wish to keep the work for progress reports or even for sentimental reasons.
The Scanner Shop has noticed several arts and crafts businesses set up specifically to mimic this trade. One customer of ours noted that they need the ScanSnap SV600 to capture 3D objects, stuck onto seasonal cards (birthday, Christmas, Easter etc).
From this, they could clean up the scanned image using bundled software packages such as ABBYY FineReader and reproduce, to sell on for a profit.
Currently priced at £480 and with a promotional public sector discount lasting until 31st March 2019, could it be time that your place of work invested in this intelligent and innovative scanner?

A3 Flatbed Scanning
Elsewhere, we’ve seen a sharp increase in the amount of A3 flatbed units being sold up and down the UK. Furthermore, businesses and consumers seem to favour the flatbed options on opposite ends of the spectrum, offered by the likes of Epson and Plustek.
The Plustek OpticSlim 1180 provides a better budget option, capable of scanning to a resolution of 1200dpi (dots per inch) and a recent update which sees it compatible with Mac platforms. These seem to be more popular with the amateur art consumers or for scanning large A3 business documents.
Whereas, Epson A3 flatbed scanners, such as the DS-50000 or DS-60000 provide an outstanding level of quality in both resolution and customer support, plus network scanning features with N models. These have been highly popular in both public sector and private, artistic industries or industries dealing with historical documents.
